PROGRAMME DESCRIPTION

The project will enhance the protective environment for children in contact with the law and to strengthen the system to prevent children from coming into contact with the law as outlined by the Convention on the Rights of the Child.

The project is designed to produce two main results:

• Empirical evidence to support the development of child protection measures is gathered 
•  Replicable child sensitive models for implementation for all levels of intervention are developed.
  

The programme started in July 2005 and will last 27 months. The total budget is 6.04 million Euros.

A grant contract was signed with the Turkish Office of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF Turkey) in July 2005. No further opportunities for tendering exist.
