The Delegation of the European Commission to Turkey has launched a short film competition on the topic of intercultural dialogue, as part of its communication activities on the European Year of Intercultural Dialogue 2008. The competition is open to all amateurs and professionals, who are invited to submit a short film by 1 May 2008.


The Intercultural Dialogue Short Film Competition is open to short films of up to 10 minutes, of all genres, in the form of video, shot after 1 January 2006. There is no restriction for the entry of films which have participated in previous competitions, festivals or similar events, or which have previously received an award.

The competition is organised in partnership with Ankara University’s Communication Faculty as well as its Centre for European Studies, and enjoys the support of Radio Mydonose.

The last day to join the competition is 1 May 2008. Submitted films will be screened on 12 May 2008 at Ankara University. The winners will be announced at the award ceremony on 13 May 2008.
