EU-supported Ardahan Initiative Project given “best initiative award”

The EU-supported “Ardahan Socio-economic Development Initiative” was selected as the “Best Initiative Success” during the conference and contest on “Best Practices on Participatory Local Development” in Ankara.

This local initiative in the Black Sea region, carried out by the International Blue Crescent (IBC), consists of 5 projects that are implemented in close cooperation with the community-based organisations and the public institutions affiliated with the Governorship of Ardahan. The project has components of social infrastructure, income generation, institutional capacity building, socio-cultural activities and trainings.

IBC had been implementing activities for socio-economic development of Ardahan since 2003 with the financial support of the BTC Consortium and the European Union.
