EU and Turkey work together against avian influenza

The “Avian Influenza Preparedness and Response Project” has been one of the key initiatives carried out through the EU financial support to Turkey. Bird flu outbreaks that have occurred occasionally since 2005 pose a serious threat both to the public health and the poultry industry. Therefore, the project plays a crucial role in minimising the threat of avian influenza infection and improving the preparedness and response mechanisms.
