From Bolu to Giresun and Trabzon to Hatay, Trees and Forests of Turkey!

More than 300 photos from across Turkey have been submitted so far to the “Trees and Forests of Turkey” Photo Competition organised by the European Commission Delegation in Turkey.

The competition, which is open to all amateur and professional photographers, is organised in partnership with the National Geographic Turkey Magazine and Radio Mydonose.

Through continuous online public voting in the competition, weekly and monthly winners are selected. In the online public voting, the number of voters has approached 3000 whereas the total number of votes submitted has exceeded well over 5000. At the end of the online voting, winners of the week and month will be awarded environment-related publications while the owner of the photo receiving the highest number of online votes will be awarded a two-year subscription to the National Geographic Turkey Magazine.

In addition, an independent professional jury will also make a selection which will be announced at the end of the competition. The jury-selected winner as well as the first and second runner-up will receive cameras and lenses along with a one-year subscription to the National Geographic Turkey Magazine.

The winners of the online public voting during first four weeks of the competition are Nusret Şahin, Filiz Acargil, Erkan Yurt and Kenan Tetik.

It is possible to submit photographs to the “Trees and Forests of Turkey” until Photo Competition by 23 June 2008. For further information on the competition, please click here.
