Waste turns into art in Ankara
"From Waste into Art," an exhibition that aims to create awareness on environment and waste treatment, was opened in Ankara earlier this week.
“Environment is one of the important but difficult chapters in the EU alignment process of the EU candidate countries,” stressed Gürdoğar Sarıgul, the Environment and Sustainable Development Sector Manager at the European Commission Delegation to Turkey, during his opening speech at the exhibition.
The artwork, located at Turkish Confederation of Tradesmen and Craftsmen (Tunus Cad: No:4 Kızılay), can be seen until November 28.
The smaller pieces of the exhibition, which are in the European Union Information Centre in Ankara (Tunalı Hilmi Caddesi 82/B-1 Kavaklıdere) will be on display until December 3.
The exhibition is realized by the EU Information Centre Ankara in cooperation with Green Steps Environmental Education Association, a civil society group that aims to create awareness on environmental issues through publications, workshops and conferences. Eleven Turkish and European artists have participated in this conference, including Roş, Serap Başol, Suzy Hug Levy and Maria Sezer.
