With the initiative of TUBITAK and European Union Joint Research Centre (JRC), a workshop is planned in the field of border security in order to negotiate research activities, and determine potential technical solutions, JRC activities and cooperation areas.

The workshop will be held on 21-22 June 2007 at Hilton Hotel in Ankara. The participants include officials from the European Commission (DG Enterprise, DG Research, DG External Relations, DG Justice, Freedom and Security), JRC researchers, European Border Security Agency (FRONTEX), German Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) and leader firms in the sector such as Thales and SAGEM.
