Finalists Announced in the 1st İstanbul-wide Europe Quiz Among High Schools

As 9th May approaches, countdown has started for the final round of the the first Europe Quiz among highschools in Istanbul. The EU Information Centre - Istanbul, part of the Information and Communication Programme of the ECD in Turkey, has been organising the Europe Quiz with cooperation of the Istanbul National Education Directorate and the support of Istanbul Governorship.

Now the three-month marathone is at its final stage and the finalists are as follows:

• Çatalca Kestanelik Highschool
• Fatih Şehremini Highschool
• Bağcılar Mehmet Niyazi Altuğ Anatolian Highschool
• Maltepe Maltepe Anatolian Highschool

572 highschools across Istanbul have participated in the quiz in teams of three junior students. The contests took place at schools in a format of 15 compulsory and 10 standby multiple choice questions prepared by the EUIC Istanbul. All contests took place in front of an audience of students. The number of students who have participated actively in the contests is 7500 whereas the number of students who have followed the contest is over 70.000.
