We are calling on all photography lovers to take part in our amateur photo competition, which has a theme of participation by unemployed, poor and socially excluded people in the working life.
The competition, open to everyone over 18, aims to raise awareness of the goals and activities of the Human Resources Development Operational Programme* (IKG OP), which is jointly financed by the European Union and the Republic of Turkey.
The winner will be awarded 1,250 TL, with second place receiving 1,000 TL and third place 750 TL. Additionally, submitters of 50 selected photographs will receive 100 TL in return for promotional usage and exhibition rights.
Participants can enter up to three photographs; the application period is 15 October 2011 to 2 January 2012.
Results will be announced at www.ikg.gov.tr on 8 January 2012. The entries will be evaluated by a jury formed by the Photographic Arts Federation of Turkey.
The award ceremony will be held in Ankara on 15 January 2012. The venue and time of the ceremony will be announced at www.ikg.gov.tr on 6 January 2012.

*The Human Resources Development Operational Programme (HRD OP) aims to reverse the unemployment and poverty status of people and remove the risk of social exclusion by providing disadvantaged individuals with professional training, consultancy and guidance services.
Among the target groups of the HRD OP are women and younger people who for various reasons lack the possibility to work, girls without access to education, disabled people who have difficulty finding employment, former inmates, displaced people, poor living in squatter settlements, and Roma.
