11th European Union Human Rights Short Film Competition

Make a Difference in Human Rights with Your Camera!

For 11 years now, the Delegation of the European Union to Turkey has organized the EU Human Rights Short Film Competition on the anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

We invite you to leverage the medium of film to express your views on the concept of inalienable and non-transferable human rights as laid out in the Universal Declaration with a view to enabling all individuals to live their lives in dignity.

This year, the Delegation of the European Union to Turkey encourages applicants to address issues linked with gender equality, but also discover the relation between climate change and human rights.

Amateur and professional filmmakers may submit their entries online from 01 July until 01 November 2021, 18:00.  These short films, which can be based on any genre or technique, must have a duration of between 3 to 10 minutes.  Join us in launching a joint discussion on the issue of human rights.

Send your entries to EU-HRFilmDays@gopacom.eu.  You can download the application form, the terms and conditions for taking part in the competition and the entry form using the link provided at the end of this text.

Films applying for the competition will be subject to a pre-selection. The main jury will assess 10 films for the Human Rights category, 5 films for the Gender Equality and 5 for the Climate Change one in the finals.

You may follow the entire process and developments as they unfold through our website and our social media accounts by using the hashtag #EUHumanRightsShortFilmCompetition .
