The EU is Türkiye's largest source of foreign direct investment. In the face of global financial instability, the EU remained a stable and reliable investment partner for Türkiye. Accordingly, the EU accounted for about two-thirds of FDI inflows to Türkiye between 2008 and 2015. The most important investor countries in Türkiye are consistently EU Member States.

  • The EU's share of Türkiye's total FDI inflow portfolio was, on average, 67.4% annually between 2008 and 2015
    • The EU accounted for 57.6% of FDI inflows to Türkiye in 2015
