Overall Objective: To inform children living in heavily mined areas about landmines and abandoned ordonnances and their dangers and risks, inform them on how to avoid being hurt and wounded by them and inform them where the mined areas are located, by doing this, saving lives and preventing disabilities with local civilians.

From 1st interim report covering until December 2016:
During the reporting period, the majority of the activities were carried out as agreed in the Description of the Action. The project focuses on decreasing child deaths and injuries resulting from armed conflict. The most important result of the project is that children who attend the trainings started to recognize landmines and wastes and understood that they should not play with them. Training materials were used in trainings. Posters were prepared based on child development and perception; and 1000 posters were printed as are communicated to the EUD.
Duy-Der reports that they have reached to 28.230 children and 520 teachers in 117 primary schools in Artuklu district of Mardin. Management and teachers of 117 schools are visited and they received information about the current number of students and required technical equipment; and prepared school schedules. The project is implemented in an atmosphere of armed conflict and curfew and protected children in implementation area.
