Jean Monnet Scholars of 2019 going to Ireland

Ambassador of Ireland mark the departure to Ireland of the Jean Monnet Scholars

H.E. Mr Brendan Ward, Ambassador of Ireland, held a reception on 20 August 2019 to mark the departure to Ireland of the Jean Monnet Scholars for the 2019-20 academic year. The reception was attended by H.E. Mr Christian Berger, Head of the EU Delegation, and H.E. Deputy Minister of Ministry of Foreign Affairs Mr Faruk Kaymakçı. 

For this academic year, 25 Jean Monnet scholars will pursue studies in Ireland. Under the 100% EU-funded Jean Monnet Scholarship, so far 70 Jean Monnet scholars have completed their studies on the Emerald Isle. 

 

In his speech, Mr Berger underlined that Jean Monnet Scholarship Programme has proven itself one of the most successful ways to enhance multicultural interaction and cross-border mobility, as well as for sharing ideas and experiences. During the reception, Mr Berger congratulated the young scholars and wished them success in their studies in Ireland.
