Several billion tons of earth are moved annually by humans - with shovels, excavators or dynamite. Nikolaus Geyrhalter observes people, in mines, quarries and at large construction sites, engaged in a constant struggle to take possession of the planet.

Nikolaus Geyrhalter
Born in Vienna in 1972, Nikolaus Geyrhalter is a director, producer and cameraman. In 1994, when he was 22 years old, he founded his own production company Nikolaus Geyrhalter Filmproduktion which focuses on documentaries and auteur fiction.
