Born in 1987, Maja Prettner graduated from the Film Directing department of the Academy of Theatre, Radio, Film and Television in Ljubljana, Slovenia. For the last five years, she has been working on documentary, children and fiction series with different television broadcasters. At the same time, she has been developing and creating her own short and feature-length projects. Her films have been shown at festivals in Slovenia and abroad. Home Sweet Home is her first documentary feature.

Getting up at 7 am. School. Lunch. Obligatory lessons. A meeting. Cleaning. Free time. Sleeping. Dreaming. A new day. This is the life of a child, brought up by a system. The story takes place in a youth home that houses children, who come from socially unsuitable environments. The film follows one year in the lives of four individuals whose paths would probably never have crossed if the circumstances had been different.
