47 children are given a free rein on an abandoned construction site near the center of Copenhagen, a hidden spot where nature has long since taken over. Here, they will go to school for ten weeks and discover how and what nature can teach them. The film is told through scenes with the children, but also with nature’s voice as a continuous narrator.
Phie Ambo, born in 1973 was trained at the National Film School of Denmark, graduating as a documentary film director in 2003. Famous for her feature length documentary films true to the tradition of poetic, personal and cinematic language, Ambo deals with essential topics such as family relations, love, creative processes and artificial life.
