Gender-Based Journalism Handbook and Online Library Project
The project was run by the Turkish Press Agency Bianet in 2016-18 and aimed to transform gender-prejudiced journalistic practices prevalent in mainstream and local media. News workshops and trainings with journalists, journalism students, and academics were organized in 10 cities in Turkey in collaboration with Kaos GL Foundation. During the workshops, participants discussed male journalism practice in the media and how to overcome it through gender-based journalism. As a result of the workshops, a handbook and online library were created to provide journalists and media workers with tools to develop a gender-based perspective.
