What is European Mobility (Sustainable Urban Transport) Week?
European Mobility Week is a campaign which takes place every year from 16-22 September. The EMW is a European initiative which encourages cities to introduce and promote sustainable transport measures and to invite people to try out alternatives to car use.
Each year the EMW focuses on a particular topic related to sustainable mobility. In 2019, the theme is ‘Safe Walking and Cycling’. This year's theme puts walking into focus and highlights this mode of transport that is too often underestimated.
Our motto for this year is ‘Walk with us!’
The EMW campaign is organised in Turkey under the national coordination of Turkish Union of Municipalities and supported by Delegation of the European Union to Turkey.
