Synopsis: Hurmuz and Simoni Diril had to rebuild their homes eight times as it was bombed and burned down in the middle of an armed conflict which forced them to leave their village Meer, one of the last remaining Chaldean Catholic villages in Turkey, several times. On October 2019, they were reunited with their children as usual, but this time proved to be the last as they disappeared from their home several months later.
Director’s bio: Etna Ozbek was born in 1991, in Ankara. She has graduated from School of Visual Arts, on 2017 with a BFA on film/video. Her thesis film, a short documentary, Water, water everywhere was screened in various international film festivals.
