EU Marks Europe Day Around Turkey
The Delegation of the European Union to Turkey and the EU Information Centres mark Europe Day with numerous events across 20 cities in Turkey between 6 and 15 May 2018.
Concerts, film screenings, panel discussions, conferences, exhibitions and more will be organised by the EU Information Centres in Ankara, Antalya, Bursa, Denizli, Diyarbakır, Edirne, Erzurum, Eskişehir, Gaziantep, Istanbul, Izmir, Kayseri, Kocaeli, Konya, Mersin, Samsun, Sivas, Şanlıurfa, Trabzon and Van aiming to raise awareness about EU – Turkey cooperation.
Within the 2018 European Year of Cultural Heritage, Europe Day is a unique opportunity to show the value of cultural heritage in strengthening togetherness and identity. Europe Day is also an occasion to reiterate that the European Union stands with its partners to work in a cooperative way to strengthen multilateralism, peace, sustainable development, free and fair trade, human rights and democracy.
You are all invited to join the activities, whether an excursion to the antique city of Perge in Antalya; crossing the Osmangazi bridge with bicycles in Kocaeli; listen to tales from Europe and Turkey with Nazli Aziza in Şanlıurfa; visit a photo exhibition portraying European cities in Konya; set out on a musical journey from west to east in Ankara; dive into the Mediterranean sea to raise awareness on underwater heritage in Mersin; enjoy jazz music with Tolga Bilgin Quartet in Izmir; watch European children films in Erzurum, Trabzon, Diyarbakır, Kayseri and Van; or enjoy European and Turkish soundtracks played by the Eskişehir Municipal Orchestra.
