Supporting Registered Employment of Women Through Home-Based Child Care Services ("NANNY") Operation
The project started in March 2015 and will last until August 2017. It is being implemented in Ankara, Istanbul, Bursa, Antalya and İzmir.
Purpose of the project is to promote registered employment of women. Working mothers in Turkey usually drop out of labour market once they give birth, due to the fact that child care is considered primarily to be the role for mothers. On the other hand domestic care services are largely undeclared (96% informality). Through an employment subsidy programme, this project keeps working mothers (who has low income) in employment, while promoting registered employment of child care givers.
Project has so far supported 8.980 working mothers, 12.902 childcare givers and 9.000 children. More than 7.000 working mothers are receiving €320 per month employment subsidies at the moment. More than 2.000 working mothers have benefitted from the project in Antalya.
