Education Infrastructure for Resilience Activities in Turkey (IPA/2016/382-614)

Overall objective: The objective of the Project is to support Turkey in improving access to education by SuTP and host communities through the expansion of disaster resilient education infrastructure in priority provinces.

 

Main activities:

The project includes three components: (i) supporting school infrastructure investments; (ii) enhancing quality learning environment; and (iii) project management and technical capacity building for infrastructure.

  • 28 Primary education facilities built or rehabilitated resulting from project interventions
  • 17 Secondary education facilities built or rehabilitated resulting from project interventions
  • 10 Vocational and technical education facilities built or rehabilitated resulting from project interventions
  • 1 Community training facility built or rehabilitated and resulting from project interventions
  • 648 additional classroom built or rehabilitated at the primary level from project interventions
  • 408 additional classroom built or rehabilitated at the secondary level from project interventions
  • 240 additional classroom built or rehabilitated at the vocational and technical education level from project interventions
  • Newly constructed and rehabilitated education facilities provided with proper equipment and furnishing
  • Capacity-building activities, trainings, and informative meetings for staff and beneficiaries organized by MoNE

 

Estimated results:

  • Improved access of Syrian beneficiaries to formal education facilities at the primary, secondary, technical and vocational education levels.
  • Improved access of beneficiaries from host communities to formal education facilities at the primary, secondary, technical and vocational education levels.
