Summary of the Action

Main objectives

The overall objective is to support educational infrastructure investments, including school constructions and quality supervision of the later, school equipment and capacity building of the Ministry of Education in this area.

Adana; Ankara; Bursa; Hatay; İstanbul; İzmir; Kahramanmaraş; Kayseri; Kilis; Konya; Mersin; Osmaniye

Expected results

The final beneficiaries are provided with access to 55 formal education facilities and 1 community training centre which satisfy all applicable Turkish regulations and codes for seismic safety, land use planning, energy efficiency, fire, safety at workplace, access for people with disabilities and so on as well as all standards related with the materials to be used.

Target groups

SuTP who currently do not have access to education and residents of local communities living in the identified locations.

Main activities

1. Improved access of Syrian beneficiaries to formal education facilities at the primary and secondary level.
2. Improved access of Syrian beneficiaries to formal education facilities for technical and vocational education.
3. Improved access of Syrian beneficiaries to non-formal education facilities.
4. Primary and secondary education facilities built or rehabilitated.
5. Community training facilities built or rehabilitated.
6. Additional classroom built or rehabilitated at the primary, secondary, vocational and technical education level.
7. Newly constructed and rehabilitated education facilities provided with proper equipment and furnishing.
8. Deployment of a monitoring and evaluation system to track the implementation of the
education construction program and the use of learning environments.
9. Capacity-building activities, trainings, and informative meetings for staff and beneficiaries organized by MoNE.
